Horse Training

Parelli natural Horsemanship

Parelli Natural Horsemanship is the foundation of our training program.

The Parelli method allows horse lovers at all levels and disciplines to achieve: success without force, partnership without dominance, teamwork without fear, willingness without intimidation, and harmony without coercion.

What I like best about PNH is:

  1. The high importance placed on retaining the horse's dignity. I don't force or make my horses do things, I ask and they usually comply willingly.
  2. If the horse does not perform the action I asked for, it is not because the horse is stupid, stubbon or sly. It is because I did not properly prepare them. Failure is my responsibility not the horse's.
  3. It's OK to feel afraid and it's OK to get off your horse. Being afraid means you don't feel safe. Staying on a horse when you are not safe is dumb.

If you want to trick train your horse, there is no better training method than clicker training. My horses earn their treats and they love working for them. Our mottos are "do a trick, get a click" and "trick and treat"!

This clear form of communication, combined with positive reinforcement, is an effective, safe, and humane way to teach any animal any behavior that it is physically and mentally capable of doing.

Trick training

I admit it - I'm addicted! I never thought I could have so much fun with my horses on the ground! I use my Parelli and clicker-training skills to teach tricks. It builds a trusting relationship. It refines the horses' coordination and balance. It keeps their minds sharp.
Most of all, it's fun!
